Eat Drink Blog 2012 at Adelaide Central Market

This year noodlies, Sydney food blog loved being at Eat Drink Blog 2012, a national food bloggers conference held in Adelaide over the weekend of 4-5 November. The venue was at Adelaide Central Market, more than 140 years old, it’s one of the top attractions of the city, a gourmet heaven where growers from across the state come to sell their produce; mushrooms, cheeses, fruit – there are over 80 specialist stalls.  More than a million visitors flock to Adelaide Central Market which also runs tours, regular cooking demonstrations and tastings.

On day one of the Conference, delegates had a chance to go on a guided tour of Adelaide Central Market, talk to the stall holders and taste their wonderfully fresh local produce.  Meet some of these great stall holders in the noodlies, Sydney food blog video below.

You can really see them light up as they talk about their business many bustling with pride about their produce and their home state of Adelaide.

Adelaide Central Market food tour

The Adelaide Central Market opens Tuesday to Saturday each week.  However the Markets opened especially to put on a special Sunday lunch for conference delegates, hungry food bloggers from across the country.  I was struck by their warmth, enthusiasm – the passion for their produce was so evident.  Watch Tony from O’Connell Meat explains his unique ham smoking process in the noodlies video below.

A big highlight was Dianne Jacob‘s food writing workshop, but really the whole conference program was a tremendous success and noodlies, Sydney food blog is so in awe of the wonderful organising committee of Eat Drink Blog 2012, claps and kudos to you all:
