According to the most recent Roy Morgan print readership results the food magazine category is down -5.7% compared to the previous year. These numbers mostly reflect the loss of 475,000 readership from the now axed MasterChef magazine.

This compares with other categories:

  • Men’s Lifestyle +2.6%
  • Motoring -2.1%
  • Mass Women’s -5.4%
  • Health and Family +7.8%
  • TV -23.9%

Super Food Ideas remains the number one food title despite a -22.1% drop in readership. Other titles in this category had relatively solid results, most notably Recipes+ up +29.0%, impressively off a large base and Selector magazine +24.0%. The greatest rise in circulation is recorded by SBS Feast magazine +30.5%, off a low base.
